How long have you been playing Stevie Ray Vaughan songs, only to realize you still can’t quite nail his sound? The Gladio SC was designed to help you get there—thanks to its special Clean volume knob. You can’t truly capture SRV’s drive tone without factoring the clean sound into the equation. Start your Texas blues journey here.

Trying to recreate the sound of an artist is never easy—especially when that sound was created using legendary gear, like a Dumble amplifier.

The Gladio journey begun with a deep dive into Robben Ford’s tone. Now we’re extending that research to another icon Dumble user.

Steve Ray Vaughan.

Let’s face it, how many times have tried to get his tone? Probably a lot. I know I did. Just like everyone who plays the blues.

But here’s something important I’ve learned while chasing that sound:

You can’t truly capture his drive tone unless you include the clean guitar sound in the mix

It may sound strange, but it’s true. If you blend in a portion of your guitar’s clean signal on top of the overdriven tone (without reducing the gain), you’ll unlock a wide range of textures that get you much closer to SRV’s tone. The sound becomes warmer, and you can clearly hear the uncompressed attack of the notes.

That’s exactly what the Gladio Single Channel (SC) was designed to offer.

The Clean knob, along with the Compression toggle switch, opens up a whole new level of drive experience—one that feels almost like you’re playing through two amps: one clean and one dirty.
